FM Assistant (Cleaning) - Colchester

Location: Mary St Aubyn Centre, Colchester
Working hours: 22 hours per week on a two-week rota.
Week 1: Monday 15:00 - 19:00, Friday 15:00 - 19:00, Saturday 08:00 - 14:30 & 15:00 - 19:00, Sunday 08:00 - 14:30. Total hours: 24.
Week 2: Monday 15:00 - 19:00, Friday 15:00 - 19:00, Saturday 08:00 - 14:30, Sunday 08:00 - 14:30. Total hours: 20. Shifts of 6 hours include a 1/2 hour unpaid break.
The role involves supporting in-house FM services, including cleaning, catering, portering, bed making, and laundering, within specified areas of the Trust. Responsibilities include maintaining high standards of cleanliness, working alongside patients, and collaborating with the Estates & Facilities Management Team. Flexibility in duties is expected.

Job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
* Cleaning assigned ward(s)/areas according to work schedules, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, and cleaning surfaces and fixtures.
* Restocking consumables and maintaining cleanliness and safety of equipment.
* Proper disposal of waste and recyclables.
* Assisting with food services, including food temperature checks, meal preparation, serving, and cleaning.
Person Specification
Education/Qualifications
* Understanding of cleanliness and good hygiene practices
* Understanding of basic infection control procedures
Skills/Experience
Relevant skills and experience will be assessed during the application process.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role requires a DBS check due to the nature of the work involving vulnerable populations.
