This role is based across our Liverpool sites and were proud of the vibrant, inclusive, and resilient community we support. Flexibility is key: youll be expected to work across different locations and at times that best meet the needs of the people we support, which may include evenings and occasional weekends.
*Please note:Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-timeroles, the salary, allowances and holidays will be pro rata based on contractedhours.
Main duties of the job
What you'll be doing:
* Leading ethical, person-centred, and evidence-informed social work practice across our Liverpool services.
* Supporting and guiding a multi-disciplinary team in responding to complex cases involving substance use, safeguarding, and mental health.
* Providing coaching, mentoring, reflective supervision, and bespoke training to enhance team confidence and capability.
* Acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead, offering professional accountability and expert decision-making.
* Driving collaboration with local authorities, NHS partners, and community organisations to improve referral pathways and support.
* Contributing to the development of new social work talent by supporting students and newly qualified professionals on placement.
What were looking for:
* A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England (or relevant regulatory body).
* Strong experience working within adult and/or children's social care systems.
* In-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation and practice.
* The ability to manage complexity, balance risk, and bring a trauma-informed approach to decision-making.
* A collaborative, flexible, and approachable leader who thrives on building others up.
* Experience of lone working, managing a busy caseload, and adapting to the needs of people in a challenging environment.

Job responsibilities
This role will play a key part in developing the support offer and will work flexiblyand creatively to establish whats needed to have the most positive impact forpeople who use services.This role will be a specialist lead to the team, providing advice and consultation onrisk, safeguarding and complex needs. They will facilitate empowerment of teamsand individuals to increase knowledge, skills and professional confidence. Withcoaching and collaboration, they will support the team to enhance their reflectivepractise skills.This role will be proactive in supporting people to navigate the wider supportsystem and to develop knowledge and skills across the sectors; including buildingclose working relationships with children and adult social care, criminal justiceservices, hospital safeguarding teams, health services.
Social Worker Continuous Professional DevelopmentCGL is committed to the continuous professional development (CPD) of its Social Workers.
All social workers will go to the quarterly national social work forum, will have a day a monthfor independent learning and an hour a week to focus on well-being.
Social workers willhave the opportunity to access external training and qualifications such as social work post-qualifying awards.
Social workers are encouraged to identify professional support networksthat meet their own development needs across sectors.
Role-specific responsibilities
* Respond flexibly to the needs of people who use services and the team, whichwill include being involved in the support of complex cases
* Facilitate and develop the skills of the team to enhance case coordination andsupport offered to people with complex and multiple needs
* Coach and develop the team to work with people where there are complexissues related to substance misuse such as to domestic abuse, child exploitation,criminal justice, caring responsibilities, mental health, safeguarding
* Support the team to increase their knowledge and skills by delivering bespoketraining, workshops and bitesize learning
* Focus on professional relationships increase understanding of roles andservices to strengthen partnership working, collaboration and referral pathways
* Contribute to the support, learning and development of social work students onplacement and newly qualified social workers undertaking their ASYEprogramme. Undertake the role of Practice Educator if applicable
* Understand the purpose of administrative tasks and complete them to a highstandard
* Be committed to professional and ethical practice as set out by regulatorybody, Social Work England, and maintain professional registration
* Fulfil the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead contributing to the wellbeing of people
* Utilise leadership and coaching skills to provide reflective supervision to themulti-disciplinary staff team
* Engage in continuous professional development through training, peer support,supervision and independent learning
Person Specification
Experience
* Good working knowledge of children/adult social care system.
* Experience and knowledge on the working practice of Safeguarding
* Children and Vulnerable Adults.
* Experience of developing and sustaining positive working relationships
* with a range of professionals.
* Experience of positively engaging with people who use services.
* Excellent social work skills and the ability to work effectively with a
* range of complex issues.
* Excellent team working, communication and collaboration skills.
* Ability to identify emerging themes and trends and work collaboratively with people to respond to these.
* Ability to work proactively and autonomously.
* Experience of working with substance misuse and related complex
* needs.
Qualifications
* Hold a valid qualification in Social Work and be registered with the
* regulatory body Social Work England.
