Driving initiatives that supports MIB strategic alignment and enhances MIB’s profile in the Insurance sector.Working in partnership with partners to shape market propositions and secure mandates for the generation of new customers for MIB service lines, in accordance with specific targets aligned to MIB’s strategy.Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, with potential for future line management responsibilities.Key responsibilities Own the on-boarding process of new members for MIB services and membership of MIBOwn the implementation and delivery of robust and independent due diligence processes for new customer on-boarding ensuring it remains fit for purposeLead on market analysis and customer segmentation to support MIB operations including key business projects and business developmentKeep the business informed, at all levels, of the changing insurance landscape including training & materialsProvide support, insights and guidance to areas of the business requiring strategic and operational support, using knowledge of the latest market developmentsRepresent the MIB at key networking events to promote MIB services and understand industry trends and changesTake lead responsibility for the generation of new customers for MIB service lines, in accordance with specific targets for customer acquisitions, aligned to product/service priorities in support of A to Z strategy outcomesDevelop a pipeline of prospective and on-boarding members to achieve the service line specific new business targetsIdentify and lead on the attendance at selected/relevant external Networking EventsEnsure the compliance of all prospective members to the terms of the relevant service’s contractual agreementsManage the seamless transition of new members over to the Customer Relationship Management TeamProvide support and advice to the strategic pillars and other business Directorates, and to key individuals including the Chief Operating Officer upon request, around general insurance, company structures and the industry landscapeContinuous knowledge building and understanding of the current and future insurance landscape, and identifying business needs and training opportunities to relay this knowledgeAnalyse potential customer segments and produce recommendations for appropriate customer models to support the acquisition of new customers across MIB service linesImplement resilience of the Industry Insight & Business Development functionsTake ownership of projects relevant to the improvement and delivery of Business DevelopmentSupport on the implementation of new process guides in line with the onboarding of new customers where relevantDemonstrated experience in process improvement and operational resilience, including the ability to design, implement, and refine business development workflows to ensure scalability, efficiency, and adaptability in a changing market environmentSkills and Experience Excellent relationship management, communication and people skillsSignificant planning, prioritisation and time management capabilitySuccessful track record of stakeholder management in a customer centric environmentExperience leading small teams or mentoring colleaguesProven track record of building Industry Insight and Business Development modelsAbility to think creatively to achieve the best outcome using all available resourcesStrong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts and emerging ideas to a broad audience, including C-SuiteCommercially astute with a proven record of delivery against business KPIsJob Title: Senior Business Development Manager Salary: £70,000Grade: 13Working Hours: 35 hours Monday - Friday Office Location: Milton Keynes (hybrid working)Job Type: Permanent -IT kit supplied to you£320 (before tax) start up allowanceHybrid working from our Milton Keynes office with travel to visit customers Other Benefits include: Contributory Group Stakeholder Personal pension scheme Life Assurance Employee Incentive Scheme 27 days holiday (plus public holidays) Holiday purchase scheme Sports and Social Club24/7 Employee Assistance Programme Free access to online tools to support mental and physical health Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave 1 volunteer day each year and charity matched funding schemeWe believe in a workplace where everyone can be themselves.
