Key Duties
* Receiving new patients and admitting them onto the Unit using the relevant IT systems and printing the appropriate admission paperwork/labels.
* Ensuring patients are aware of their next appointment and discharging them from the system.
* Checking case notes, tidying and preparing them for scanning at the scan centre.
* Answering several phones on the Unit in a professional manner and conveying messages to the appropriate person.
* Photocopying, scanning and ordering paperwork required for the Unit.
* Assisting the Unit with managing the calendars and diaries on the Unit.
* Communicating with other departments, mailing memos to staff, etc.
* Assisting with reception and liaising with patients/relatives as requested by nursing staff.
* Working collaboratively as part of an integrated team.
* Organising own day‑to‑day work tasks, prioritising to achieve set timescales.
* Making decisions and taking actions within the Unit environment relating to telephone and routine enquiries, whilst receiving support and supervision.
