More About The Role
Our sites are ever-demanding, complex, and in some cases operate 24 hours a day. It's vital we have a strong Engineering team to ensure our machines work to the best of their ability, allowing us to continue providing great products to our customers while maintaining speed and efficiency. As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing site. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of machinery and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly.
Shift Pattern: Mon-Thurs 18:00 PM - 02:30 AM and Fri 18:00 PM - 00:00 AM
Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will include:
1. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on production equipment, identifying and resolving potential issues before they cause disruptions.
2. Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns, diagnose problems, and perform repairs or coordinate with external specialists when necessary.
3. Carry out machine adjustments and changeovers to support production line efficiency and minimize downtime.
4. Monitor and calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy, quality, and safety standards are met.
5. Collaborate with production teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and provide technical expertise to enhance productivity.
6. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including schedules, repairs, and spare parts inventory.
7. Adhere to health and safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
8. Stay updated with industry advancements and new technologies relevant to the role.

About You
In addition to the ability to work at pace, we're looking for someone with:
* Qualifications to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical/electrical engineering, BTEC level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering).
* Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in the FMCG industry.
* Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery, including conveyors, motors, pumps, and packaging equipment.
* A proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to ensuring high equipment reliability.
* A good understanding of HACCP principles; IEE qualification up to 17th edition wiring regulations would be advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Assertiveness with the ability to make decisions on the spot.
* A can-do attitude and a strong work ethic.
