Duties And Responsibilities
1. Coordinate street works activities, including roadworks, excavations, installations, and repairs, in accordance with statutory requirements, permits, and regulations (e.g., NRSWA, TMA).
2. Liaise with local authorities, utilities companies, contractors, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and permissions for street works operations.
3. Schedule and plan street works activities, allocating resources, equipment, and personnel to meet project requirements and deadlines. Include monthly meetings to assist with the street works manager.
4. Manage the process of applying for and obtaining street works permits, noticing works, and coordinating with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with permit conditions and restrictions.
5. Prepare regular progress reports, performance metrics, and compliance documentation to monitor and evaluate street works performance and adherence to regulatory requirements.
6. Be responsible for liaising with local authorities for compliance, producing job packs, overseeing productivity, and liaising with customers and clients.
7. Have experience with street works coordination, highway maintenance, or project management within the construction or utilities sector.
8. Undertake all works associated with permitting, wayleaves, rights of way, and Asset Sharing (e.g., PIA in UK) for deploying a fibre network.
9. Work closely with Build Managers and Build partners for planning and scheduling work, and liaise with Build Teams to ensure permits are administered correctly to avoid FPNs or charges.
10. Ensure permits are raised in accordance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and Traffic Management Act.
11. Create and build job packs to assist civils, cabling, and tree-cutting gangs, in relation to main build design and changes during the build.
12. Play a proactive role within the team when reviewing permits and providing support to other team members.
13. Make final decisions to ensure all information and checks are completed before raising a street works permit and creating job packs.
14. Liaise with internal supervisors for site meetings with Local Authorities and build contractors.
15. Coordinate with Traffic Management Suppliers for deployment of TM On Site.
16. Perform any tasks assigned by higher management or the CEO.
