Overview

We currently have exciting opportunities within our Family Time Service for workers with good availability who are looking to work on a casual contract for a friendly and supportive team who is determined to make a difference and have a genuine impact on the lives of children and families in Buckinghamshire. We are particularly interested in people who are available to supervise family time sessions for children after school and with some weekend availability to support families in the community.

Workers will be expected to work predominately in Aylesbury, High Wycombe, and surrounding areas.

The Family Time Service is required to support the overall development of children and young people by providing quality time with birth relatives from whom they are separated whilst being looked after by the Local Authority.

About the role

To supervise family time between children in Local Authority care and their birth families.

Have appropriate experience of working with the relevant client group and understanding of the relevant statutory frameworks/requirements and practical knowledge of a range of procedures and interventions to support families.

To work proactively within the team ensuring the best outcomes for children and families and to respond appropriately to the needs of children, young people, and families in an accurate and timely way.

About you

You will hold a recognised qualification in care work with vulnerable children, young people, and families such as NVQ Level 2.

You are required to hold a full current driving license.

The role is customer-facing, and the post holder is required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with service users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

You will have sensitivity and empathy to build trusting and supportive relationships with families and skills to influence, persuade and motivate them to achieve agreed goals and targets.
