The University Hospitality Department provides catering to students, staff and external customers throughout the academic year and during the summer months. There are numerous outlets run by the Hospitality Department offering a range of food and drink options.
We currently have a vacancy for a Food & Beverage Assistant, fixed term contract from 1st September 2025 - 24th July 2026. In this role you will be required to ensure that the day to day running of the catering operation is smooth and that customers are provided with a high standard of service at all times. Your responsibilities will include taking customer orders, serving food and drink, working on the tills, stocking food stations and assisting with cleaning and clearing tables and catering areas. The role includes early morning, evening and weekend working on a 5 out of 7 days per week contract (36.5 hours per week). The weekly shift pattern consists of straight shifts only, no split shifts. The shifts are predominantly Monday-Friday with occasional weekend work.
About you:
The successful candidate will have experience of providing an excellent standard of customer service in a customer focussed environment. Previous experience of working in the Hospitality industry would be an advantage. You should be a good team worker and be able to be calm and professional in high pressure situations, as it can be extremely busy during peak times.
Further Information:
This is a full-time position (36.5 hours per week) offered on a fixed-term basis, with an expected end date of 24 July 2026.
