Overview
Job description has been submitted to the Royal College of Psychiatry for approval. This is an established post - Specialty Doctor in Community Psychiatry, Based at Hanson Corner Middleton.
Responsibilities
* Duties will consist of providing assessments and management of new referrals and follow-up for patients under CMHT.
* There will be a contribution to be made in terms of leadership and support of development of the service.
* Specialty doctor will build up their own caseload and will be supported to work independently with access to supervision and regular input by Multidisciplinary team.
Team and supervision
The community Consultant based at Hanson Corner Dr Deji Odelola will be responsible medical officer for patients. Cross cover for periods of leave/study will be picked up by the other 2 Resident doctors attached to the team. Alongside the specialty doctor there is one senior resident doctor (ST4-6) and one Core resident doctor.
Workload and model
The team workload is 139 and the average number of referrals per month is 5-7. The job is an excellent opportunity to develop competency in working with patients with complex needs managed under CTO provision. The current model in Working Age is based on an inpatient/outpatient model. There are 3 Community Consultants (3 sectors), each covering outpatients only, and 2 Inpatient Consultants with a Full-time consultant cover for the EIT, full time consultant covering HTT/Access team.
