Band 7 Ward Manager
Hours: Full time 37.5hrs per week
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, good role model and motivated individual to support the team of very dedicated nurses on Silvertown Ward for a permanent period.
If you are looking to develop your career further as an experienced Band 6, or you are a Band 7 nurse/manager looking to manage a 25 bedded surgical ward, caring for patients from all surgical specialties, this is your opportunity now. You will be responsible for the operational effectiveness of the Unit and Lead and manage the Nursing staff.
The Post holder will need to be NMC registered, with recent experience of working in an acute or surgical area at either Band 6 or Band 7 level. You will be a leader, highly focused, enthusiastic, and motivated. Able to demonstrate the appropriate competencies for the role, work with the existing multidisciplinary teams and have good communication skills at all levels.

Main duties, responsibilities, and results areas
Key result areas
* Delivers high standards of clinical care to patients according to clinical guidelines and trust policies.
* Maintains effective communication between the clinical areas, with the MDT and service users utilising a variety of means, including accurate documentation, consistent with Trust policy and wider legislation.
* Functions as a proficient clinical practitioner in the ward area and a credible role model.
* Provide 24 hr continuing responsibility for the effective and efficient management of the ward area and continuous management of nursing team members.
* Ensure all quality indicators are achieved and when necessary, ensure effective and continuous evaluation and actions are taken as appropriate.
* Participates in the ward education programme and clinical research within the ward.
