Job Description:

As one of the fastest-growing Colleges in the UK, delivering courses from entry level right up to Masters degrees, Weston College is an inspiring place to work. We currently seeking an outstanding individual to join us as in the role of HE Disability practitioner and DSA Advisor.

There are two part-time roles available, both working 18.5 hours per-week.

Postholders will be responsible for delivering group and ad hoc 1:1 study skills sessions to support all students to thrive and achieve positive outcomes at University Centre Weston (UCW) whilst enabling appropriate students to access Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) support.

Key Duties and responsibilities

* Advising HE students and applicants regarding Disabled Student Allowance, supporting applications and enabling students to arrange external support.

* Create and deliver elements of UCW's Headstart programme to support transition of students with disabilities, additional needs and learning differences.

* Facilitating all HE students to complete online screening processes at the start of term and following up any individuals which are identified as having potential learning differences or support needs.

Required skills and qualifications

* A Degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate area.

* Experience of developing and implementing individualised programmes of study.

* Knowledge and understanding of the impact of learning differences, disabilities and mental health diagnosis on academic engagement and achievement.
