Applications are invited to apply for a LAS ST3 in Emergency Medicine at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The LAS ST3 in conjunction with the ED consultants and Nurses would be expected to manage a wide variety of acute adult and paediatric emergencies presenting to the department. They would be expected to provide support to junior colleagues.
This is a fixed term post from 20th June until 31st March.

The successful candidate will join the only Emergency Department in the Milton Keynes District, which currently serves a population of over [population not specified].
This is a busy teaching hospital with affiliations to the University of Oxford, Health Education Thames Valley (HETV), and the University of Buckingham Medical School (opened in January [year not specified]). There are ample opportunities for career development, teaching experience, and research.

We work closely with acute medical colleagues to deliver the best patient outcomes and have recently launched a nationally recognized Same Day Emergency Care service.
The successful applicant will participate in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students affiliated with the University of Buckingham and support colleagues in these activities as part of their job plan.
The duties of the LAS ST3 doctor include initial diagnosis, resuscitation, and overall clinical management of all patients arriving at the A&E Department. Follow-up, referral for admission, transfer, or discharge to GPs, and liaison with community colleagues are essential components of the role. There are opportunities to engage in simulation-based teaching, including bi-monthly sessions for SHO and middle-grade doctors, with multidisciplinary involvement.
You will supervise junior doctors, advise, and review their patients as necessary.

Qualifications / Registration
* Entry on GMC Register
* Two up-to-date advanced life support courses (ALS or ACLS; ATLS or ETC; APLS, PALS, or EPALS)
* Full MRCEM or FRCEM
* ATLS/ALS/APLS/EPLS Instructor
* MIMMS
Knowledge
* Appropriate level of clinical knowledge in Emergency Medicine
Clinical Experience
* Relevant clinical knowledge with the capacity to apply sound clinical judgment
* Experience in managing risks and making clinical decisions
* Practical skills aptitude
* Ability to work effectively in various clinical settings
* Awareness of safety and good decision-making practices
* Engagement in clinical governance and audit activities
