Peak District National Park Authority
Communications officer
Posted: 19 July
Offer description

Edale, Derbyshire

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Communications Officer to join our team to help us to devise and deliver an innovative communications programme to support the landscape scale peatland conservation work of Moors for the Future Partnership across the Peak District and South Pennines. In the role, you will be part of a team delivering face to face public engagement with local communities, and a digital programme including social media across multiple platforms, where you will be writing and publishing articles and press releases, organising group site visits to moorland locations, as well as supporting our partners and organising events.

The post is mainly Monday to Friday, however some evening and weekend work is required as part of the engagement programme. A full driving licence is required, which will include driving company vehicles and our touring ‘bog in a van’, the Bogtastic Van.

About You

We’re looking for someone with a proven track record of working in an engagement and communications role. You will need a high standard of written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to influence different audiences; good organisational and time management skills, the ability to prioritise and work under own initiative; and will need to be willing and able to drive the Bogtastic Van to and from events. Some knowledge of conservation and access to the countryside and the interaction between recreation, land management and conservation is desirable. Some weekend working is required – time off in lieu will be given. You will be able to proactively drive projects, input ideas and have great relationship management skills.

About Us

The Peak District National Park was the first of Britain’s 15 national parks and is still enjoyed by millions, looking for both adventure and a breathing space to escape.

Interviews: w/c 11th August

Benefits

We offer a range of staff benefits including flexi-time, a high-quality defined benefit pension scheme (2 years to qualifying period), 26-31 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays) with the option to purchase more, volunteering leave and free parking at most of our offices. Please check out our Total Reward Brochure to see what else we offer.

Flexible Working

A range of flexible working options would be considered.
