Social Worker | Adoption, Lancashire & Blackpool - Recruitment & Assessment
We have an exciting opportunity for a Grade 8 Social Worker, to join the Recruitment & Assessment Team within Adoption, Lancashire & Blackpool, on a permanent, full time basis. The role will be based in Preston, however travel will be required across the county as needed.
About Us...
On 01 April 2020, Blackpool Council and Lancashire County Council formed a Regional Adoption Agency (RAA): Adoption Lancashire and Blackpool. Lancashire County Council are the host authority for the RAA, which provides a comprehensive service to families across the region. The RAA delivers the following services on behalf of the partner Local Authorities: Recruitment & Assessment of adopters; Adoption Support & Family Finding.
About the role...
As a Recruitment and Assessment Social Worker, you will be involved in the recruitment, assessment and support of prospective adopters, until an Adoption Order is granted.
Your key duties will involve but are not limited to:
1. Provide Information to prospective adopters, through events.
2. Complete assessments.
3. Deliver training, both pre-approval and post-approval, to adopters ensuring that they are prepared.
4. Participate in the matching process and supporting adopters once children are moved into their care.
5. Provide continued support to families, post-placement.
About you...
As a Recruitment and Assessment Social Worker, we're looking for the following qualities and attributes:
6. Qualified social worker with Social Work England registration.
7. Experience supporting children and families in complex situations.
8. Strong assessment, report-writing, and communication skills.
9. Knowledge of child development and relevant legislation.
10. Ability to manage caseloads, work in partnership, and value diversity.
11. IT literate and committed to continuous professional development.
12. Approachable, trustworthy, and dedicated to improving outcomes for children.
13. Full driving licence and access to a car for business use.
