Job Summary
The Plant and Tooling Maintenance Technician Apprentice will develop skills for the maintenance, servicing and repair of a wide range of plant equipment and tooling utilised within the Telecoms and Energy industries. The Apprentice will gain hands-on experience in diagnostics, testing and calibration.
The Plant and Tooling Maintenance Technician Apprentice will be enrolled on a L2 Engineering Operative programme. The Apprentice will be required to work towards Level 2 Functional Skills on the programme. Support for the programme and the functional skills will be given by both the provider and MJQ apprenticeship team.
Responsibilities
* Gain technical familiarity with a range of tools and equipment
* Assist in inspecting and repairing a range of plant and tooling equipment under supervision
* Support the preparation of engineer kits for deployment
* Learn how to perform PAT testing and ensure compliance with electrical safety standards
* Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards when repairing and servicing equipment
* Help diagnose and record faults on incoming tools and plant equipment
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace
* Learn how to use workshop equipment safely and correctly.
* Work collaboratively with the Service Centre team to meet deadlines
* Complete all apprenticeship coursework and training modules on time
* Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to learn across all workshop tasks
