Pyro Packing Operative
Location: Oxford area
Salary: £27,500
An established engineering manufacturer is looking for a hands-on Packing Operative to join its Pyro Manufacturing Department. This role plays a vital part in preparing specialist components used in life-saving safety systems.
Overview of the Role
You’ll be responsible for packing and palletising cartridge sets and rocket motors, ensuring all goods are accurately prepared and ready for dispatch. This includes updating systems, maintaining accurate stock control and working to regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Pack, palletise and label goods for dispatch with correct documentation.
* Update SAP to track packing progress and dispatch status.
* Receive goods and materials into the packing area, reconciling against production cards or delivery notes.
* Ensure all items are correctly batch-marked and stored safely.
* Maintain accurate SAP records for stock location and movement.
* Handle materials in line with safety procedures and ER14 guidelines.
* Operate and maintain packing equipment, ensuring it remains fit for use.
Skills & Experience
* Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach.
* Able to check own work and work to defined standards.
* Proactive problem-solver with a positive mindset.
* Experience in packing within a manufacturing or stores environment.
* Basic knowledge of Health & Safety procedures.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
* SAP experience and Dangerous Goods certification (Air, Sea & Road) are advantageous.
