Are you a qualified Pharmacist with an interest in working in Mental Health Services?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacist to join our established, friendly, and highly respected Pharmacy team at Priority House Hospital in Maidstone on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your clinical skills within mental health services while working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care.

This role would suit pharmacists with previous mental health and hospital experience who are looking to consolidate their skills, as well as those considering a move into mental health pharmacy from another sector. You will have the opportunity to work both in inpatient and community settings.

As a Pharmacist for the Trust, you will be provided with opportunities for personal growth and development, including support for post-graduate qualifications in mental health pharmacy. Some of our pharmacists are qualified as independent prescribers and the opportunities to qualify and practice as prescribers will grow as our team does.

Annual leave allowance starting at 27 days per year (when working full time) + Bank Holidays.

Access to the fantastic NHS pension scheme.

Eligibility for the Blue Light Card (discount service for the NHS, providing members with thousands of amazing discounts online and on the high street)

Main duties of the job

To be part of a team that provides a comprehensive clinical pharmacy and medicines management service to the mental health unit.

Support patients and their families by providing advice about the use of medication, optimising treatment, providing information and liaising with acute and other care providers to ensure seamless transfer of care.

This role does not require mental health experience and the expectation would be for the candidate to learn and build their experience on the job through formal learning and work-based practice.

Ongoing training and support will be provided by the Lead Education and Training Pharmacist and the local clinical pharmacy team, with clinical supervision being provided by one of our experienced Senior Clinical Pharmacists.

Further support will be available from the Trust-wide pharmacy team if required.

You will be part of a clinical pharmacy team that provides a medicines management service to the inpatient wards.

You will also be involved in working with the other pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in undertaking and developing audits and projects to evaluate and improve services alongside pharmacy and trust priorities and objectives.
