Job Title: Database Administrator (DBA) Support Location: Manchester (Onsite 4-5 days per week) Salary/Rate: £450 per day Inside Start Date: 24th November Job Type: Contract Company Introduction We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! Key Responsibilities: Administer and maintain MS SQL Server 2016 & 2019 environments to ensure stability, performance, and security. Perform daily health checks and proactively monitor database systems to maintain data integrity and availability. Manage and execute the release of SQL code and schema changes across multiple environments (QAT, UAT, XAT, Production). Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, incidents, and errors promptly. Administer user access, roles, and permissions in compliance with security policies. Execute ad-hoc SQL queries and perform query tuning, indexing, and performance optimisation. Monitor and manage tickets and service requests through ServiceNow. Implement and manage robust backup and recovery strategies to safeguard against data loss. Collaborate with development teams and other technical groups to identify and remediate problems in T-SQL queries and stored procedures. Required Skills/Experience The ideal candidate will have the following: Proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA), preferably in a banking or financial services environment. Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 & 2019. Proficiency in T-SQL development, query tuning, and performance troubleshooting. Demonstrated ability to deploy code and schema changes across multiple environments safely. Familiarity with ITIL processes and enterprise service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow ). Experience implementing and managing backup, restore, and recovery strategies. Additional Information This position requires onsite presence 4-5 days per week in Manchester. Candidates must be engaged via PAYE through an umbrella company Initial contract runs until 31st December 2025, with a strong likelihood of extension.
