Job Overview
Coordinating multidisciplinary environmental inputs across a wide range of infrastructure development projects to help them gain development consent. Working with clients and design teams to identify environmental constraints, avoid impacts, develop solutions, and deliver benefits where possible. Coordinating the preparation of environmental assessment reports and providing post‑planning consent support during project construction and operation.
Core Responsibilities
* Engage with clients and design teams to understand project requirements and environmental constraints, shaping projects to achieve environmentally beneficial outcomes.
* Prepare and coordinate environmental assessment reports.
* Provide post‑planning consent support for projects, including during construction and operation.
* Assist in the delivery of our digital transformation agenda by exploring digital solutions to tackle environmental and sustainability challenges.
* Travel to site surveys and transport site equipment as needed, using a full driving licence or reliable transport.
Qualifications & Skills
* Relevant first degree (e.g., environmental impact assessment, environmental economics, environmental management, environmental policy, environmental science, geography, housing, sustainable development). A postgraduate degree is advantageous.
* Strong research, report writing, and web‑based research skills supporting technical issues influencing project development.
* Good verbal and written communication skills with confidence to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
* Strong organisational, time‑management, and numeracy skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Commercial awareness, ability to work flexibly under pressure, and a willingness to learn and work as a team member.
* Required: Full driving licence or reliable transport, willingness to travel.
Additional Requirements
Will work full‑time in a hybrid setting (no remote work option). Must have permanent right to work in the UK; no visa sponsorship.
