Job Description Job Title: Chemist Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Location: Manchester Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm (site-based) Salary: Circa £26k Bonus Industry: Testing, Inspection & Certification Overview of the Role: This role supports chemical testing operations on site, ensuring accurate sample preparation, efficient testing processes, and timely reporting of results. You will play a key part in maintaining high-quality standards, meeting customer expectations, and supporting the wider laboratory team to deliver operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Support all chemical testing activities, including sample preparation (breaking down samples, digestion, equipment cleaning) Operate and run laboratory testing instruments for analysis (e.g., metals testing and compliance testing) Monitor and report daily testing status to ensure visibility of workflow and timely communication with stakeholders Proactively follow up on outstanding orders and resolve issues in the preparation stage Maintain accurate records and documentation to support UKAS accreditation and quality standards
