Senior Consultant - competitive salary – multiple locations across Europe (hybrid)
A well-established European consultancy specialising in economics is seeking a Senior Consultant to join its competition team. The role focuses on delivering robust economic analysis, overseeing projects, and working closely with clients on complex matters such as mergers, antitrust issues, litigation, and regulation.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced economist with a solid background in competition work, strong analytical and communication skills, and an enthusiasm for applying economic thinking to practical legal and policy questions.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and contribute to economic analysis on competition cases such as mergers, dominance, cartels, and damages
* Carry out and review data analysis, applying economic theory to real business and regulatory issues
* Build and interpret models to understand markets and competition
* Summarise findings clearly in reports and presentations
* Manage projects to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget
* Guide and support junior team members
* Work directly with clients, maintaining strong relationships and providing practical advice
* Help grow the business by supporting proposals and identifying new opportunities
* Contribute to articles, events, and discussions in the field.
* Stay informed on competition law and economic trends, sharing insights with colleagues and clients
Key Requirements
* A Master’s degree or higher in Economics, Econometrics, or a related field (PhD desirable)
* Significant experience in competition economics, gained in consultancy, regulatory, or corporate settings
* Strong knowledge of antitrust frameworks, merger control, and litigation support
* Skilled in economic modelling, quantitative techniques, and empirical analysis
* Experience with statistical software such as Stata, R, or Python is an advantage
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
* Proven experience presenting findings to clients, lawyers, or policymakers
* Ability to lead, manage, and mentor junior team members effectively
* Strong organisational skills to balance project delivery, business development, and internal work
