Manufacturing Engineer (Composites)

THE ROLE
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stand‑out aerospace engineering business as a Manufacturing Engineer in the development of aerospace components of a composite nature. As part of the NPI team, you will be at the forefront of technology advancements in carbon composite manufacture, focusing on Resin Transfer Molding (RTM). This role is ideal for someone in the early years of their career looking for a career development opportunity.
DUTIES
* Work directly with manufacturing and engineering teams to help resolve manufacturing engineering issues.
* Develop and utilise new carbon composite manufacturing technology, including Resin Transfer Molding (RTM).
* Ensure manufacturing is represented during the product development process and design for manufacture/assembly.
* Develop test routines to establish process parameters around new technologies.
* Employ virtual manufacturing tools to simulate workflow, automation sequences and space requirements.
* Develop robust, lean solutions for equipment layouts, process design and product flow.
* Ensure that process capability, cycle time and equipment availability targets are achievable.
* Define equipment lists, spare requirements and training requirements for production, manufacturing engineering and maintenance.
BACKGROUND
* Experience in carbon composite manufacture and RTM.
* BSc/MSc/HND qualifications.
* Knowledge of problem‑solving methodologies.
* Knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
* Knowledge of 3D printing from CAD and part production.
* Experience with 3D Catia, 2D AutoCAD and/or another CAD package.
