Employers' / Public Liability Solicitor - Birmingham - Up to £43,000
A respected national insurance litigation firm is seeking an EL / PL Solicitor to join its growing Birmingham team. The department is recognised for defending a broad range of liability claims on behalf of insurers, businesses and public sector organisations. You'll gain exposure to a varied workload including employers' liability, public liability and workplace stress-related claims.
The Role
* Managing a caseload of litigated fast track and multi-track EL / PL claims
* Handling matters involving liability, causation and quantum disputes
* Reviewing and managing large volumes of disclosure documentation
* Assisting senior lawyers with case strategy and complex file progression
* Drafting witness statements, pleadings and client reports
* Conducting legal research and preparing cases for hearings
* Attending court hearings, conferences and client meetings
* Supporting networking and business development initiatives
About You
* Qualified Solicitor with circa 1-3 years' PQE
* Previous experience in EL / PL, personal injury, insurance defence or civil litigation
* Strong understanding of civil procedure and litigation processes
* Confident handling your own caseload with appropriate supervision
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise deadlines
* Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
* Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
* Team player with a commercial and client‑focused mindset
