Job Title: MRO New Facilities & Equipment Manufacturing/Capability Acquisition Engineer
Location: Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace, Derby
Why Rolls-Royce? Within Civil Aerospace, there is a vacancy for a MRO Facilities & Equipment Manufacturing/Capability Acquisition Engineer. This newly established role supports the strategic and commercial expansion of our Aftermarket MRO business, covering Engine Overhaul and Component Repair Facilities from a technical perspective.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical support and guidance for designing, creating, and equipping world-class engine overhaul or component repair facilities.
2. Collaborate with Project Managers and Subject Matter Experts to ensure infrastructure supports MRO engineering requirements and complies with safety, quality, and airworthiness standards.
3. Develop high-level facility designs using RRPS FactoryDesign & Layout principles and simulation tools.
4. Coordinate with external partners to design and build facilities enabling full engine overhaul and return to service.
5. Maintain expertise in at least two process or procedures, sharing knowledge within the team.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience with RRPS modules or equivalent systems.
* Previous experience leading factory design and layout engineering aspects.
* Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Proficiency in standards like AS9102, NADCAP, etc.
* Understanding of gas turbine engine design and processes, especially Rolls-Royce Trent engines.
* Experience working with machine tool OEMs on equipment testing, installation, and commissioning.
* Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to travel globally approximately four times per year.
