About Ventro Group
We're a forward-thinking company operating in the fire safety and building services sector. We're growing, and we need a commercially sharp Lead QS to take ownership of a team and drive profitability across our project portfolio.
The Role
This is a genuine leadership position. You'll manage a commercial team of Junior QS/QS staff and a Commercial Admin, taking full responsibility for cost control and gross profit across your projects.
Your focus will be on:
· Driving GP improvement and hitting contribution margin targets
· Sourcing and negotiating with subcontractors to secure optimal pricing
· Creating Bills of Materials and managing project budgets
· Producing monthly valuations and invoices for clients
· Managing cash flow and keeping debtor days tight
· Mentoring and developing your team
· Building strong relationships with Project Managers and clients
You'll have real decision-making authority on day-to-day commercial matters, with support from senior leadership when you need it.
What We're Looking For
· Proven QS experience with some team leadership under your belt
· Strong commercial instinct and negotiation skills
· Confident managing subcontractor relationships
· Experience in fire safety, construction, or building services (preferred)
· Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (preferred)
· MRICS or working towards (advantageous)
· Someone who takes ownership and sees things through
