Credit Risk Quality Assurance Analyst - Wrexham
Salary:
To lead and manage second line quality assurance (QA) reviews across the Bank’s mortgage portfolio, including organic lending brands and forward flow partners. The role will span multiple asset classes such as Buy to Let (BTL), Bridging, and Residential lending. The successful candidate will also provide subject matter expertise (SME) on lending criteria, policy development, and support new strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct second line QA reviews of mortgage underwriting decisions across all secured lending channels.
• Provide SME input on lending criteria, policy changes, and new product development (e.g., Bridging and Residential).
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure QA findings are actioned and embedded into operational practices.
• Support MI production and development of MI processes, working closely with team members to reduce single-person dependencies.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of credit risk oversight and governance frameworks.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mortgage underwriting with a lending mandate.
• Strong understanding of secured lending across BTL, Bridging, and Residential asset classes.
• Experience in quality assurance processes, ideally including oversight of third-party providers (e.g., valuation panel managers).
• Analytical mindset with proven ability to interpret data and produce meaningful insights.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small, agile team.
