Job Summary
We’re seeking a skilled and compassionate Dermatology Consultant to join our team in delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care. This role involves managing a diverse caseload of dermatological conditions, providing expert diagnosis and treatment, and contributing to multidisciplinary care planning.
Main Duties
* Clinical Management: Provide expert care across a broad range of dermatological conditions, including skin cancer and inflammatory skin disease.
* Procedural Work: Perform dermatological procedures such as biopsies, excisions, and minor surgeries in line with service needs.
* Teledermoscopy: Manage a dedicated teledermoscopy caseload, ensuring timely and accurate remote assessment of skin lesions.
* Clinical Leadership: Offer guidance and support to junior staff, contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions, and help shape service development.
* Documentation & Governance: Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to governance, safety, and quality standards.
* Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across specialties to ensure integrated and patient‑centred care.

Person Specification
* Essential – Qualifications
o Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
o On Specialist Register or due to obtain relevant CCT within 6 months of interview
o Or Portfolio Pathway (CESR) or equivalent European Qualifications for Specialist Registration
o MRCP
o Valid Certified Advanced Life Support Skills
* Desirable – Qualifications
o Relevant Higher Degree e.g. MD; PhD; MSc
* Essential – Clinical Experience
o Broad based experience in Dermatology
o Knowledge of UK hospital systems (or equivalent)
o Knowledge and participation in CPD
o Competence in Dermatology

o Experience of NHS
o Wider experience, research and training in providing sub specialty service
o Evidence of above average performance
