We are looking for a skilled and experienced Electrical Technical Manager to lead the delivery of renewable electrical installations across our projects. This is a pivotal role, responsible for ensuring systems are designed, installed, and commissioned to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
About the Role
As Electrical Technical Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of renewable electrical installations, from initial design through to certification and handover. You will work closely with internal teams and contractors to ensure seamless project execution, while maintaining compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
You will act as the technical lead, providing guidance and support throughout the design, installation, and certification process. Your role will also involve conducting on-site audits, managing documentation, and liaising with external partners and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage and oversee the end-to-end delivery of renewable electrical installations.
2. Ensure all projects meet quality, safety, and certification standards.
3. Support system design and installation, including completion of installation certification.
4. Submit documentation to Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) in line with regulatory requirements.
5. Conduct regular site audits and inspections to uphold internal standards.
6. Maintain accurate technical documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications.
7. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure technical alignment.
8. Act as a key point of contact for external partners and suppliers.
9. Provide escalation support for complex technical queries and complaints.
10. Support onboarding of new products and technologies, offering technical guidance to installation teams.
About You
You will be a qualified and experienced electrical professional with a strong background in renewable energy installations. You will have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
11. Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
12. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation / Electrotechnical Technology (AM2).
13. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
14. 2391 Inspection & Testing.
15. SSSTS or SMSTS.
16. Proven experience managing electrical installations in the renewable energy sector.
17. Leadership and supervisory experience.
18. Strong understanding of industry regulations and safety standards.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge
19. Technical expertise in solar PV systems and renewable energy technologies.
20. Experience with MCS accreditation and CDM regulations.
21. Familiarity with G99/G100 applications and grid connection requirements.
22. Ability to inspect, test, and certify electrical installations in line with UK standards.
