The Role: Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)
We require a skilled and versatile Maintenance Engineer, ideally with a strong mechanical background, to manage maintenance and contribute heavily to ongoing capital projects at our Dudley site. Experience with steam systems, pumps, and pipework is highly valued.
Salary, Shifts & Benefits
* Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
* Shifts: 8-hour shifts on a rotating Days Only pattern:
o Week 1: Mornings (e.g., 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM)
o Week 2: Afternoons (e.g., 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM)
* Holiday: 21 days annual leave plus 8 Bank Holidays.
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector is essential.
* Experience in the Food or Drink manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
* Strong mechanical fault‑finding and repair skills.
* Familiarity with maintaining and servicing core plant equipment such as:
o Steam Systems
o Compressors
o Pumps and Pipework
Key Responsibilities
This role offers a great mix of routine maintenance and exciting project work:
* Reactive & Planned Maintenance: Carry out routine maintenance, service, and repair of all factory machinery and plant equipment to minimize breakdowns.
* Project Work: Play an active and crucial role in various on-site capital projects, installations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Plant Maintenance: Ensure the reliable operation of site infrastructure, including steam boilers, compressors, and extensive pipework.
* Breakdown Response: Quickly diagnose and rectify mechanical failures and malfunctions across the facility.
* TPM/PPM: Contribute to and execute the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule.
