Detailed job description and main responsibilities Duties of Post: • Provide an outpatient service • Through peri-operative visits and ward rounds, provide high quality patient care. • To participate in the emergency ENT on call service. • Play a role in the clinical management of patients. • Participate in operating lists • Participate in clinical audit & demonstrate evidence based practice where appropriate. • Practice adequate handover of care. • Ensure discharge summaries are completed, in anticipation of expected discharge, for all admissions. • Contribute to service development in areas of special interest and expertise. • Actively participate in continuing medical education. • Undertake personal appraisal and job-planning as part of revalidation. You will take part in a 1 in 7 on-call rota providing SpR level cover for the new Hub and supporting the emergency on call, supervising emergency cases, and ward patients, during the working day, and be expected to help with the training and supervision of new junior doctors (F2 - ST2), as well as take part in Department meetings, research and audit. Disclosure and Barring Service Check Please note if you are successful in obtaining this position and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check. The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment. The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
