Overview

Lead Psychologist opportunity at Elysium Healthcare's Learning Disabilities and Autism services in Workington and Kendal, Cumbria. You will work with individuals and groups, conduct diagnostic and cognitive assessments, participate in MDT work and risk assessments, and facilitate staff reflective practice sessions as well as design and deliver training.


Job responsibilities

* Lead in individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working and risk assessments.
* Facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and design and deliver training.
* Carry a service user caseload, including assessing complex needs and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support care plans.
* Participate in referrals assessment, provide initial assessments of service users, and undertake high-quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, evaluative) psychological interventions with autonomous clinical decisions.
* Work therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi-structured methods; formulate and implement plans for specialist psychological treatment or management of mental health needs.
* Maintain professional and legal accountability for all aspects of clinical work and care; adhere to HCPC Code of Conduct and Company Policies and Procedures.


Locations and service model

You will split time between Ann House in Kendal and Gregory House in Workington, with options for 3 days at one service and 2 days at the other on a permanent basis, or part-time at either service. Ann House and Gregory House are Learning Disabilities and Autism services.


Requirements

* BPS recognised psychology degree
* HCPC registered
* Registered practitioner psychologist
* Approved supervisor within BPS guidelines
* Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice
* Experience applying psychology to Learning Disabilities and Autism settings
* Experience with clients with cognitive deficits
* Experience conducting research and project work

Location details

Locations: Ann Street, Kendal, Cumbria, LA9 6AA; Furness Road, Workington, Cumbria, CA14 3PD.

You will be working at Ann House (Kendal) and Gregory House (Workington), both Learning Disabilities and Autism services serving adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs. The services provide robust, structured care with a focus on independence and meaningful daily living, supported by multidisciplinary teams.
