Job Description:
Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences, John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, Oxford Contract type: Fixed term until 30 November 2027
Hours: Part-time – 0.4 FTE (15 hours/week)
About the role
The NetZeroAICT Consortium (Oxford PI: Professor Regent Lee) is seeking a part-time project manager to primarily support and manage the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) arising from this Horizon Europe funded project, designated as a specific work package within the consortium project. Information regarding the NetZeroAICT project can be found on the consortium website. Intellectual property rights (IPR) for AI, data, and software is ubiquitous in NetZeroAICT, producing many challenges in management, protection, and exploitation. These challenges include the span of unique applications; capabilities to deploy globally; rapid development; modularity; and combinatorial nature. In an increasingly digitalized world, AI, data, and software are required to process complexity, present simplicity via user interfaces and experiences, while adhering to formal/de-facto standards ensuring interoperability. These challenges will be managed through an IPR Committee (IPRC), comprising interdisciplinary members, including the public advisory group, experienced in value creation, capture, and transfer. The IPRC is charged with protecting background and scientific results, while promoting knowledge sharing and cross-fertilization.
The Project Manager will have experience in establishing and delivering complex projects, ensuring high standards in day-to-day coordination and activities. You will be based at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, with flexible remote working arrangements to be agreed with your line manager.
The activities will include:
* Liaison with other work package leads within the consortium
* Project reporting on a regular basis
* Collaboration with other teams within the program for interdisciplinary tasks
* Preparation and hosting of two Innovation Management Seminars
* Chairing periodic meetings of the Innovation Management Group to steer innovation
* Recording new innovations, selecting asset classes for protection, educating on IPR, and horizon scanning for industry/academic developments
About you
You will possess excellent interpersonal and management skills, capable of interacting productively with team members, researchers, and collaborators across sectors. While collaboration is key, you should also be able to work independently, leading initiatives effectively. You will handle a demanding workload, managing your time and priorities efficiently. This part-time position is available immediately and is fixed-term until 30 November 2027.
