Benefit from support and engagement through dedicated management and leadership We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor to join our Wales & Southwest Division. Supporting our 7 ports across South Wales and the Southwest, youll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our health, safety, and environmental standards. Youll be the go-to person for on-the-ground safety matters, audits, and tenant liaison, working across all functions and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Culture Champion proactive health, safety, and environmental behaviours across local ports. Promote and deliver regional safety campaigns and environmental initiatives. Foster a positive HS&E culture aligned with ABPs values. Compliance & Support Provide guidance on ABP policies, risk assessments, and safe systems of work. Coach and challenge managers and supervisors to improve HS&E capability. Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards. Incident & Audit Management Manage and coordinate local safety and environmental incidents using EcoOnline. Conduct thorough investigations and produce actionable reports. Perform internal audits and support HS&E committee meetings and inspections. Reporting & Performance Deliver monthly HS&E reports with data trends and positive activity updates. Ensure timely closure of audit actions, Spot It submissions, and incident follow-ups. What Were Looking For Essential: NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent). Membership of IOSH, IIRSM, or ISEP. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience in internal auditing and incident investigation. Proficiency in HS&E systems (e.g., SAP/EcoOnline) and data analytics tools. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region. Ability to work independently, flexibly, and respond to dynamic operational needs. Knowledge of behavioural and cultural change tools in HS&E. Desirable (Development Opportunities): Experience in a safety-critical environment. Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent. ISO auditing certification (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001). Experience in sustainability and environmental impact reduction. Expertise in behavioural safety programme design and delivery. Experience liaising with external enforcement authorities.
