Recruiting for a training course February 2026

As a health adviser, you are the patients first point of contact, using your skills, alongside specialist computer software, to assess their symptoms and give them the help and reassurance they need.

We can offer a competitive base salary, starting at £24,937 rising to £26,598 after two years (per annum, pro rata for part time employees). In addition, the role attracts enhanced payments for unsocial hours worked in the evenings and weekends.

After 18 months as a band 3 Health Advisor, you will automatically progress to a band 4 Enhanced Health Advisor, subject to meeting the required criteria. Additional duties within this role include, coaching lesser experienced staff and carrying out tasks to support Team Leaders in the call centres.

We can offer a range of full and part time rotas.

There is a requirement to work six out of eight public holidays (pro rata depending on rota) as well as three weekends out of five.

Training

You will receive comprehensive, paid training which will enable you to fully support our patients. The training is ten weeks full time.

You will commence your role on a training contract and upon successful completion of your training, you will be issued a permanent contract.

111 Health Advisors are highly trained to assess and negotiate to ensure the best patient care and outcome - no two calls will be the same. We work around the clock receiving 111 calls from patients who need our help. It is an incredibly rewarding role that allows you to really make a difference to our patients lives.

The role will be demanding, and this role may not be for everyone, you will be dealing with a wide variety of patients including some very emotional situations. Successful candidates are required to have the skills to deal with the variety of patient calls in a compassionate, professional way. You will also use your strong customer service skills to deal with complex and sensitive information to ensure the right level of care for our patients is sought.
