Overview
A unique opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified or established RMN to join the Lochaber Community Mental Health Team in the stunning rural location of Lochaber.
This role offers the chance to work creatively and compassionately under the guidance of the Community Mental Health guidelines (NHS Highland), providing high‑quality support to individuals presenting with mental health difficulties, distress and crisis to A&E, Police colleagues, and GPs within the locality. The successful candidate will be skilled in mental health assessment and treatment facilitation, with excellent communication, interpersonal and time‑management skills. A strong understanding of risk assessment and the ability to formulate and deliver care plans are essential.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality, person‑centred mental health care as part of a responsive multidisciplinary service.
* Build strong relationships with partner agencies, including Police Scotland, A&E departments and local GPs to support safe discharge planning.
* Develop, train and implement evidence‑based interventions for patients within the community to improve quality of life and levels of functioning.
* Play a vital role in supporting the wider multidisciplinary team, ensuring safe and effective community care.
Qualifications
* Registered Mental Health Nurse, newly qualified or established.
* Demonstrated ability in mental health assessment and treatment facilitation.
* Strong communication, interpersonal and time‑management skills.
* Knowledge of risk assessment and care‑planning processes.
