Elm Tree Surgery is looking for a fixed‑term salaried GP to join our happy and successful small semi‑rural dispensing practice on the Wiltshire/Oxfordshire border.
We are looking for 4 sessions a week – Tuesday and Friday – and a Friday PM duty session, which will be paid at a rate of £11,000 per session per year for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job
We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable GP who is keen to be part of our committed and cohesive team.
As a GP, you will deal with a wide range of healthcare needs in a primary care setting, managing a caseload, ensuring the highest standards of care for all patients and handling related administration and paperwork.
About us
We are a well‑established single site training and dispensing practice serving a semi‑rural population of approximately 8,500 patients. Our list is small enough to enable GPs to provide continuity of care. The practice is situated in a rural village with excellent road and rail links to London, Oxford, Bristol and Bath.
Our supportive team includes 3 Partners, 4 salaried GPs, 3 practice nurses, 2 healthcare assistants/phlebotomists, 1 Practice Manager, and excellent receptionists, dispensers and secretaries. Elm Tree is part of one of the Primary Care Networks under the umbrella of the Brunel Health Care Group, which provides additional services such as physiotherapy, pharmacy, social prescribing and a wellbeing coach.
Job responsibilities
* Respond to medical problems presented by patients, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and referral where appropriate.
* Work in partnership with patients to provide high quality care.
* Provide appropriate preventive health care and advice within the context of the patient group’s needs.
* Follow NICE guidelines and local protocols for patient care.
* Maintain clinical records to the highest possible standards, entering data according to practice protocols using recognised templates and clinical coding.
* Provide care within the Quality and Outcomes Framework, DES and LES.
* Process postal and pathology reports in accordance with practice protocols.
* Provide certifications as outlined in current NHS regulations.
* Make home visits to patients as clinically necessary.
* Undertake relevant administrative and non‑clinical duties needed for the delivery of medical services.
* Attend primary health care team meetings and other meetings as required.
* Participate in the clinical audit programme.
* Participate in the clinical supervision and development of health professionals within the practice.
* Keep up to date with developments in medical practice and undertake annual appraisal and revalidation in line with professional standards.
* Maintain professional integrity and standards by following the policies and procedures of Elm Tree Surgery, including prescribing and clinical governance.
* Contribute to health and social service networks within Swindon and the surrounding community.
Qualifications
* Hold the appropriate medical qualifications required to practice medicine.
* Be a fully registered doctor in the GP Register of the General Medical Council.
* Be listed on the Medical Performers List.
* Not be suspended or disqualified from practice under any disciplinary proceedings related to professional misconduct or negligence.
