Senior Practitioner – Duty & Assessment Team 1

Location: Tameside

Salary: Upto £40 per hour

Are you an experienced and passionate social worker ready to make a real impact? Join our Duty & Assessment Team in Tameside as a Senior Practitioner and help shape the future for local children and families.

As a Senior Practitioner, you’ll deliver high-quality, evidence-based social work in line with legislation, policy, and best practice – always with the goal of improving outcomes for children. You’ll balance a complex caseload with a key leadership role, guiding and supporting colleagues to deliver exceptional practice.


What you’ll do:

* Deliver effective, child-focused social work to children and families, ensuring risk and need are managed to the highest standards.
* Hold and lead on complex cases within the team, providing mentoring, coaching, and co-working to develop practitioner skills.
* Facilitate workshops and group supervision to support reflection, learning, and continuous improvement in practice quality.
* Contribute to service leadership, drawing on service user feedback, performance data, and stakeholder input to drive improvement.
* Play an active role in strategic planning and service development, helping shape high-quality, value-driven services across Tameside.


About you:

You’ll be a confident, reflective, and motivated practitioner with substantial post-qualifying experience in children’s social care. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, bring strong analytical and leadership skills, and are committed to delivering the best possible outcomes for children and families.
