Mechanical Design Engineer | Rochdale, Greater Manchester | Full Time | £35,000 to £50,000 dependant on experience
A world-class, market leader in the manufacture of automatic combustion equipment is seeking a mechanical design engineer to join its rapidly expanding firm, which exports to over 40 countries worldwide and serves a broad range of blue-chip customers.
You will join a team of mechanical design engineers who are responsible for the design of a range of industrial burners, associated heating equipment and full energy centres.
Your role will heavily involve the use of SolidWorks for both design and simulation, as well as ensuring that all paperwork, such as manuals and parts lists, is available and accurate.
Whilst we do have a standard range of burners, we are very much a bespoke manufacturer, and this role will give you the opportunity to oversee projects of varying detail and complexity.
Responsibilities
* Design of industrial burners, associated heating equipment and full energy centres.
* Lead and support projects from concept through to execution within a bespoke manufacturing environment.
* Utilise SolidWorks for 3D design and simulation to validate concepts.
* Ensure documentation is accurate and available, including manuals and parts lists.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams and monitor progress on shop floor.
* Contribute to project planning and verification activities.
* Participate in site visits for pre-installation checks as required.
* Produce and maintain technical documentation and design records.
Qualifications
* Proven engineering experience.
* Solid understanding and proven use of SolidWorks.
* Good with documentation and record-keeping.
* Excellent time management skills.
* Organised and able to work on own initiative.
* Effective communication skills.
What will your role look like?
Based at our Rochdale headquarters, with access to an 8-acre production facility.
Part of a team of mechanical engineers responsible for a host of ongoing projects.
Daily use of SolidWorks, ePDM and simulation tools.
Direct contact with the shop floor to monitor the progress of ongoing jobs.
Site visits as required for pre-installation checks.
Creation of documentation and design records.
