We are looking for someone new to work with us as a casual member of staff at the University Learning Hub within the library.
Working with our HE students, term-time only, in the evenings and/or weekends. Potential working patterns may include shifts made up of any of the following: weekday evenings 4pm-9pm, and/or weekends 10am-5pm, to be discussed at interview.
This role will include:
1. Supporting students with issuing and returning books on our kiosks
2. Assisting with locating resources and some student enquiries
3. Shelving books and shelf tidying
4. Assisting students in borrowing laptops
5. Monitoring student behaviour and ensuring the ULH is a welcoming and safe working environment so that students are able to work effectively
About You
We for looking to develop a team of casual library assistants to work in our new University Learning Hub Library who can show they have the following skills:
6. Attention to detail
7. Reliability
8. Confidence to help with a range of student enquiries, and be approachable
9. Able to show good levels of literacy and numeracy
10. Being proactive in managing your workload
11. A methodical approach to their work
12. Some library experience would be beneficial, but full training will be given.
