The club has always had a reputation for being friendly and inclusive. We are a forward-thinking club, priding ourselves on good value and a passion for a great golfing experience. The Club is split into two companies with the top company being an approved Community Amateur Sports Club. We are embarking on an agreed five year plan to develop the club with new revenue streams and investment projects.

Job Responsibilities
As the bookkeeper, you will oversee and manage financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance, reporting to the Finance Manager. Your key responsibilities include:
* Recording Financial Transactions: Accurately record all income, expenses, and financial activities using Xero accounting software.
* Maintaining General Ledger: Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger by reconciling accounts and correcting discrepancies.
* Preparing Financial Statements: Generate monthly and annual financial reports for the department managers and the Board.
* Payroll Processing: Manage payroll operations, including calculating wages, withholding taxes, and issuing payments.
* Accounts Payable and Receivable: Track fees and payments, while maintaining strong supplier and member relationships.
* Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with internal records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
* Budget Monitoring: Assist in tracking budgets, identifying variances, and recommending adjustments.
* Compliance and Audits: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and assist with internal or external audits.
* Expense Management: Monitor expenses and recommend cost-saving measures.
* Tax Preparation: Collaborate with accountants to prepare and file tax returns accurately and on time.
Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
Must-have:
* Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or FreshBooks.
* Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices, including a working understanding of VAT legislation.
* Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to analyse financial data and identify discrepancies.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and client interactions.
Nice-to-have:
* Certification as a bookkeeper or accounting technician (e.g.AAT).
* Experience working in the leisure / hospitality sector
* Multitasking skills for managing multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating pivot tables and using formulas.

* Maintain a 100% accuracy rate in recording and reconciling financial transactions.

Pay: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
