ELECTRICIAN (Multi Skilled Engineer)
G4S Care & Rehabilitation Services – Oakhill (Children) Secure Training Centre (STC), Milton Keynes.
Salary: £40,000 per annum plus call out allowance (£100 standby, £85 call out, £20 per hour over 4 hours).
Employment: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours per week).

Responsibilities
* Operate within planned maintenance procedures for assets, effectively and safely.
* Deal effectively and safely with breakdowns and damage to assets.
* Write up maintenance reports and technical procedures for Building Maintenance Activities.
* Assist in the training and development of other maintenance/technical staff involved in site maintenance activities.
* Carry out maintenance inspection and reactive repairs to various types of heating, water, ventilation, electrical, mechanical and security equipment and services on site.
* Diagnose faults on all Mechanical and Electrical support systems and rectify where necessary.
* Follow detailed drawings and operational maintenance manuals to carry out all planned maintenance, routine inspections and reactive repairs.
* Assist in development of maintenance routines, procedures, risk assessments, prepare and maintain relevant technical records.
* Work with other craft qualified, semi-skilled and non-skilled maintenance staff to develop cross‑skilling and cover all levels and aspects of maintenance activities on a team‑work basis.
* Participate in emergency call out arrangements and provide cover where necessary during sickness absence periods.
* Carry out maintenance activities to assist in project and improvement development works, offering alternatives to improve the effectiveness of the operation of the site, review current legislation/regulations within the range of qualifications, levels of competence, training and experience.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Proven experience as an Electrician and fully qualified within an electrical engineering discipline (Level 3 NVQ or equivalent).
* Flexible and adaptable to ever‑changing scenarios.
* Strong organisational and communication skills and experience of working within a fast‑paced environment.
* Must be eligible to work in the UK, resident for a minimum period of 3 years, and able to provide full details of employment and education history as part of the security screening process.
* All employees required to hold a current Enhanced DBS Certificate.
* Subject to checkable history and strict vetting standards set by G4S and the Youth Custody Services; exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
