About the Opportunity Care Managers Ltd is recruiting experienced Health Care Assistants (HCAs) to support the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. This is a specialist role ideal for HCAs with experience in challenging behaviours, complex presentations, and high-risk scenarios. Maintain safety within settings involving: Absconding risk, Suicide/self-harm risk, Harm to others, Complex family dynamics Follow clinical directives and safeguarding procedures. Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Maintain accurate, timely records in line with NHS and company standards. Contribute to a positive care environment through professionalism and compassion. Essential Requirements Previous HCA experience in hospital, mental health, or acute settings for at least 6 months PMVA / MAPA / Control & Restraint or equivalent training (or willingness to refresh). Ability to work within a structured, 24/7 rota system. Strong communication skills and resilience under pressure. Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and risk management Preferred Experience Working with individuals who present absconding risks. Supporting patients with self-harm, suicidal ideation, or aggression. Experience in high-acuity wards, psychiatric settings, or 1:1 / 2:1 / enhanced observations.
