With over 10,000 logistics professionals worldwide and more than 6,000 integrated systems delivered, we help power the world’s most advanced warehouses and distribution centres.

As part of the KION Group, we combine global scale with a culture of engineering excellence — and now we’re looking for a motivated Engineering Intern to join us for a 12‑month placement.

This is your chance to gain real‑world experience, work alongside industry experts, and contribute to projects that keep the world moving.

We Offer

* Hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge automation and robotics, working on real projects that impact major global supply chains.
* Mentorship from experienced engineers, giving you the guidance, feedback, and industry insight needed to accelerate your development.
* Exposure to multiple sites, teams, and technologies, helping you build a broad understanding of intralogistics and discover where your strengths lie.
* A platform to grow your professional skills, from technical capability to communication, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement — all highly valued by future employers.

What You’ll Be Doing

* Show enthusiasm for learning and a genuine interest in engineering and automation.
* Observe, absorb, and understand a wide range of technical skills and processes.
* Progressively take on tasks independently or as part of a team as your confidence grows.
* Complete all training activities and meet academic requirements for your placement.
* Maintain high standards of professionalism, punctuality, and communication.
* Follow all Health & Safety legislation and contribute to a safe working environment.
* Ensure quality in all work undertaken and accurately record your activities.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
* Represent Dematic professionally when interacting with colleagues, partners, and customers.
* Maintain records of your learning and project involvement for university reporting.

Additional Opportunities

* Work closely with your team to understand how engineering decisions impact real‑world operations.
* Identify and communicate potential upgrades or project opportunities back to the wider business.
* Share knowledge and insights to support team learning and improvement.
* Work across multiple sites to gain exposure to different technologies and environments.
* Adhere to company policies, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and quality standards.

What We’re Looking For

* Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or a STEM discipline.
* Strong communication skills and a proactive, positive approach to learning.
* A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.
* Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to contribute to meaningful engineering work.

Why Dematic?

* Work with cutting‑edge automation and robotics technologies.
* Gain hands‑on experience in a global engineering organisation.
* Learn from experts who are shaping the future of intralogistics.
* Build skills that will accelerate your career long after your placement ends.
* Be part of a company that values innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
