Role overview
We are looking to recruit an experienced nurse into the Band 7 Ward Manager role on Ward 34 to cover maternity leave. This ward has 33 beds and delivers care to adults with acute respiratory conditions.
Responsibilities
* Consistently drive excellent clinical quality standards by providing visible clinical leadership.
* Support the team in delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based care, with a focus on patient experience and safety.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to foster ongoing ward development and create an inspiring learning environment.
* Apply leadership and management skills to support the team’s professional growth and achieve personal and professional objectives.
Qualifications and experience
* Post‑registration experience of at least two years at Band 6 or equivalent in an acute environment.
* Excellent communication skills and the motivation to inspire and develop others.
* Demonstrated capacity for lateral thinking and innovative work within available resources.
Additional requirements
* Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council PIN (NMC PIN) will be verified before shortlisting.
* Interviews will be conducted in person at the hospital site only; remote interviews are not available.
