An opportunity to join an exciting organisation as a Welder.
The purpose of the role you will be responsible for to weld metal components to produce finished goods that will be susceptible to all forms of post weld inspection/NDE
You will be working as part of the fabrication and welding team ensuring that manufactured parts/ fabrications meet customer requirements and that these are provided in a timely manner.
Main Duties & Responsibilities: Manually weld steel parts (carbon steel, high tensile steels, hardened & stainless steels) using parameters set out by welding procedures; using predominately manual gas shielded metal arc processes (bare wire & flux core processes) to BS EN 15614-1 and BSEN287 standards and predetermined procedures.
Follow all safe working practices.
Understand drawings (weld symbols) and materials.
Grind of clean weld joint of work pieces prior to welding.
Use disc grinders and chippers to smooth out, weld, or grind parts post welding.
Operate manual and semi-automatic welding units.
Carry out visual examination of weld for bead size and other specific specification.
Repair improperly welded pieces to specific procedures.
Clean-up work area daily.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Essential: Complete a pre-production multi pass weld qualification test piece on a single bevel, overhead plate weld using the GMAW process.
Understand and apply welding techniques.
Accept responsibility for the work performed.
Visualise what the finished product should look like.
Experience of semi-automated welding processes.
To be able to read drawings / data sheets.
Ideally candidates will have experience with light fabrication and experience for dressing and high spec Finnish.
