A specialist contractor working across façade, cladding, and roofing systems is seeking a Design Assistant to join its technical team. Known for delivering high-quality, compliant, and safety-focused external envelope solutions, the company works on a range of complex refurbishment and fire remediation projects throughout the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a background in architectural technology, construction, or design engineering to gain hands-on experience within a fast-paced, growing team. The role offers strong career progression, with clear pathways into design coordination, project delivery, or quality management.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with preparing 2D drawings, detailing, and technical layouts using AutoCAD or similar software
*
Support in coordinating technical design documentation for cladding and roofing packages
*
Contribute to materials research, sample tracking, and system data collation
*
Manage and maintain controlled document sets, including drawings, test certificates, and specifications
*
Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to support design compliance and approvals
*
Attend occasional site visits to support project design reviews and installation understanding
Candidate Profile:
*
Degree in Architectural Technology, Construction Design, Engineering, or related discipline
*
Detail-oriented with an interest in building envelope systems and fire remediation
*
Familiarity with AutoCAD and document control processes (training will be provided)
*
Organised, proactive, and confident managing structured data and technical files
*
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
*
Based in or around Leicester, with flexibility to travel to sites as needed
