Occupational Therapist Assistant – Apprenticeship Opportunity. Based on Mulberry Ward, Scunthorpe. If you are interested in working in a mental health setting with adults in an acute ward, and have a passion for supporting recovery through occupation, this role offers the opportunity to make a positive difference.

Apprenticeships provide experience, work-related skills and a nationally recognised qualification with training time allocated during the working week.
Responsibilities
* Carry out individual therapeutic intervention programmes and feedback relevant information according to agreed assessment framework and treatment aims identified by the Occupational Therapist.
* Assist the Occupational Therapist to carry out community based individual assessments.
* Work with service users to develop independent living skills and work towards individual recovery and vocational goals in preparation for discharge, as directed.
* Carry out agreed Occupational Therapy interventions with service users without direct supervision of senior staff in community locations and service users\' homes as needed and directed by OT.
* Carry out group work and contribute to regular evaluation of groups, in conjunction with service users and the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring a balanced programme of activities.
* Provide accurate, relevant and timely verbal and written information regarding patient progress.
* Promote meaningful occupation within the patient group.
* Identify and source resources for ward activities, with a lead for maintaining the therapy space (organising, maintaining supplies, creating a welcoming and inviting space, creative use of space).
Qualifications and Requirements
* Experience: Demonstrate a keen interest in caring for others; previous experience of caring for patients in a clinical setting; experience of working as part of a team.
* Knowledge: Understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
* Qualifications: English and Maths at level 2 or equivalent (GCSE 9–4 or A*–C or functional skills level 2); NVQ Level 2 in a related subject; NVQ Level 3 in related subject or willingness to undertake a relevant Level 3 Apprenticeship.
