Purpose of Role
The Business Solutions Advisor is responsible for maintaining the existing customer base and developing new profitable business for the Company.
Reporting to
Senior Commercial Director and/or Commercial Manager
Principal Accountabilities
* Develop and secure new revenue-generating business opportunities/relationships.
* Forecast, research, and execute plans that will build current and future business.
* Develop and present reports and presentations to decision-making audiences to close new business.
* Maintain and increase revenue streams with current accounts through problem-solving and administrative follow-up.
* Use CRM software for activity tracking, lead follow-up, pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity tracking.
* Ensure high post-sales satisfaction and positive long-term relationships.
* Prospect via the internet, cold calling, advertising campaigns, and other sources.
* Attend trade shows.
* Other duties as assigned.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* Lead Generation/Prospecting Activity: Track the number of new leads identified or qualified, encouraging them to practice finding potential clients and generating interest.
* Product Knowledge Assessment: Regularly assess understanding of products or services, which can be done through quizzes or role-playing sessions. This ensures they’re building a strong foundation for discussing offerings.
* Client Meeting or Demos Conducted: For a new hire, having experience with customer-facing interactions is valuable, so tracking this can encourage them to gain practice with presentations or product demos.

* Internal – Sales and Marketing staff, Client Operations, Field Service, Operations staff
* External – Clients, potential clients, vendors
Experience / Qualification Required
* Relevant high school qualifications or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Sales or Marketing; Level 6 award, certificate, or diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
* 3 years in the commercial/sales field
* Customer service and/or previous sales experience

* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Problem-solving capability
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
* Ability to engage professionally, yet comfortably with the client to generate a positive impression of the company with the client
* Proficient in MS Office Suite
* Valid State driver’s license and proof of current insurance coverage
Working Conditions
* Work is normally performed in a typical office work environment
* Occasional exposure to noise, dust, heat, fumes, and weather conditions
* Typical use of office equipment including computers, telephones, copiers, etc.
* Long periods of sitting, standing, walking, and telephone speaking and listening
* Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, fitted dust mask, etc., as required
* Must be able to travel as needed
* Must be able to take on new assignments as needed regardless of existing workload
* Must be able to work under deadlines and related stresses in a timely manner
* Must be able to handle personnel issues and situations as they arise in a professional manner
