We are a well organised, efficient Practice,with a list size of 16000 and growing.We are based in a spacious converted bank, which has had severalextensions to provide a comfortable and modern clinical environment. There areexcellent transport links and we are close to the Olympic Park and Westfieldshopping Centre.

We have a strong ethos ofteaching and training and you will be welcomed into our large Primary Care teamof 13 Doctors, GPSi in Dermatology/surgery, 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 2Practice Nurses, 3 HCAs, Diabetic Nurse Specialist, 3 Pharmacists and you will instantly become a valued member of the team.
Every clinical andadministrative member of staff is encouraged to develop professionally. Thedoctors have been supported and encouraged to specialise; each has their own intereste.g. Substance Misuse, Mental Health, Dermatology, Minor surgery, Paediatricsand Womens health.

Job responsibilities
To attend Practice meetings
To render assistance with any extra services where needed
Liaise with external authorities as required
Conform to practice procedures for QOF, prescribing incentive schemes, PBC and other enhanced services and directives as stipulated by the PCT/Government or the Practice
To do extended hours on a Rota basis
Assess own performance and take accountability for own actions, either directly or under supervision
To carry out telephone consultations/video consultations and telephone triage
Handling of pathology results, hospitals and mail
Benefit Agency reports, Social Services reports, Insurance reports and the like, where the patient is being dealt with by Salaried Partner and upon prior agreement with Partners
Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat to do and review prescriptions as and when required. Prescribe in accordance with the accepted prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
To do Referral letters for patients seen
To cover for other Doctors on annual leave/study leave
To update and summarise patients computer records from letters received
To teach and supervise students/GP Registrars/Nurses, FY2 doctors and other attached placement doctors as and when required
To keep rooms clean and tidy
To be punctual, effectively manage own time, workload and resources
To conduct and dress yourself in a professional manner
To maintain a good working relationship with staff, doctors and patients.
Contribute to the effectiveness of the team by reflecting on own and team activities and making suggestions on ways to improve and enhance the teams performance and service expansion
To prepare and participate in CQC visit
Ad hoc duties as and when required

Qualifications
* Eligible to work in General Practice in the NHS
* Experience as a GP educator.
* Experience of appraisal in practice or other setting
* Willing to successfully complete appropriate training for appraisal and remain up to date with the developing GP Appraisal, relicensing and revalidation agenda.
* To deal with sensitive information in a tactful way.
* To be able to demonstrate on-going personal and practice development.
* To have a facilitative approach.
* To discuss difficult areas sensitively and diplomatically.
* Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, face to face and active listening skills.
* Recognise peoples needs for alternative methods of communication and respond accordingly.
* Computer skills familiar with the GP based software, Microsoft Word and e-mail
* Eligible to work in General Practice in the NHS
