Operations Manager

A respected main contractor is seeking an Operations Manager to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly, strengthen internal communication, and ensure new processes are adopted across the business. This is a hands-on role at the centre of operations with clear ownership and visibility.
What you’ll do
* Run daily operations: keep workflows organised, timely, and cost-effective.
* Drive adoption of new processes and culture initiatives: communicate clearly, be present, and ensure follow-through.
* Lead internal comms: monthly updates, visual comms, team news, and engagement tracking.
* Oversee office management and supplier relationships.
* Support HR administration and coordinate with external employment law partners when required.
* Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and training schedules; keep records up to date.
* Prepare and submit PQQs and tender documentation.
* Track actions from monthly Operations Meetings and report progress.
* Support brand and marketing activity (social, web, content, events) where helpful.
* Oversee property/facilities admin: compliance, insurances, renewals, and maintenance logs.
About you
* Experience in operations/office management (construction or similar environment an advantage).
* Organised, practical, and delivery-focused; you turn plans into routine practice.
* Clear communicator who brings structure and alignment across teams.
* Comfortable spanning ops, HR admin, and light brand/marketing support.
* Confident with tools and data; you measure, report, and improve.
* Calm under pressure, detail-driven, and consistent.
